Getting started with Govflo

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Govflo handles public records requests end to end: intake, the statutory clock, finding the records, redacting them, getting sign-off, and releasing them. Everything about a request lives on the request, so the account you can give of it later is complete.

The six areas

  • Dashboard. What needs attention now.
  • Requests. The queue. Every request your agency has received.
  • Approvals. Work waiting for a decision.
  • Document Workspace. Where records are reviewed, redacted and published.
  • Requesters. Everyone who has filed with you, and their history.
  • Settings. Agency configuration. Administrators only.

Three things that are true throughout

The clock starts on arrival. Two deadlines run against each request, one for your first response and one for resolving it. Neither waits for someone to pick the request up.

Everything is logged. Each change is written as part of the same action that made it. There is no way to change something without leaving a record.

AI proposes, a person decides. Summaries, recommendations and redaction proposals are advisory. The product says so on the panels themselves.

Your agency configured most of what you see

Statuses, priorities, teams, the fields on your request form and the wording of your notification emails are all set per agency. What appears on your screen may differ from any example, including in this help center, because someone in your office chose it.

Where to go next

If you work requests day to day, start with Getting started as a records custodian. If you configure the agency, start with Getting started as a system administrator.
